Waresley Park Estate
Gamingay Road, Waresley, Sandy, SG19 3DD
Nestled in the heart of the Cambridgeshire countryside is the beautiful Waresley Park Estate. Spanning 120 acres of parkland, woodland and gardens the stunning destination has evolved throughout its rich history from its early days as a family home to the charming venue for bespoke parties and weddings it is today. The site has also been home to a successful equestrian centre and was the training facility for a number of teams for the London 2012 Olympics.
Waresley Park Estate has now entered another exciting chapter and, after a lot of planning and hard work by director Ben Griggs and his team, has opened its gates to the public for a host of exciting activities.
Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk through the grounds taking in the beautiful walled garden, see the resident bees and catch the delicate scent of the botanicals. While there you can relax at the newly-opened café, Bean Theory. The sister company to Ben’s city centre branch in Newnham, the café is housed in a converted barn and serves delicious Hone coffee (made from beans expertly roasted on the estate) cake and snacks.
Ben is always striving to diversify the estate’s offering to make it a destination in which to enjoy a range of experiences. 2023 alone saw the planting of a vineyard, the introduction of paddleboarding and wild swimming and live performances in the outdoor amphitheatre. And it doesn’t stop there! Later in the year comes the Winter Lights event with a selection of festive workshops ranging from wreath making to a Christmas cocktail master class.
With so much on offer, this special place is well worth a visit.
