Step into Well:o in Cambridge’s vibrant Station Place and you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d wandered into a blissful spa. From the soothing sage green and candy pink décor to the uplifting scent of aromatherapy candles, it’s a calm and enticing space.
In fact, as the UK’s first dental wellness studio, Well:o has been thoughtfully designed to emulate a tranquil spa, whilst offering expert, preventive oral health care.
Well:o specialise in an array of highly-effective dental hygiene treatments, without patients needing to see a dentist first. Led by clinical director and dental hygienist, Shelley Belgrove and her caring team of hygienists, therapists and nurses, these superior treatments include Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) and Airflow. Swiss innovation GBT is a gentle treatment which detects (and helps combat) plaque whilst Airflow spritzes a combination of warm water, air and fine powder to remove stains and bacteria which contribute to tooth decay and gum disease.
Patients are talked through each step of their treatment and advised on effective ways to care for their teeth, minimising the need for future dental intervention. The team also conduct oral cancer screenings, teeth whitening and facial aesthetics in their refreshingly bright therapy rooms.
Well:o is the creation of Felix von Nathusius, who became frustrated by the disappointing dental provision when he moved to the UK from Germany. Unlike traditional dentists who have notoriously long waiting lists, Well:o offer flexible appointments (often next day) plus affordable monthly subscription packages.
Since launching in December 2023, the innovative dental wellness studio has attracted wall-to-wall five-star reviews with some patients describing their experience as ‘life changing’. “It’s so rewarding to see the patients who arrive feeling nervous and quiet leave with big smiles,” says Felix. “We even hear giggles and laughter from the treatment rooms!” Now that’s surely the most glowing endorsement.
