Fullers Hill Cottages
Fullers Hill, Little Gransden, South Cambridgeshire, SG19 3BP
Imagine a rural retreat of nine characterful cottages, set in lush Cambridgeshire countryside, where you can jet in by aeroplane or gallop in on horse, Bridgerton-style. Somewhere you can relax in the rejuvenating waters of a hot tub, enjoy a blissful massage or savour an Aperol spritz watching the sun set across a panoramic landscape.
Sounds incredible, doesn’t it? Such an idyllic sanctuary does exist – and it’s only 25 minutes from Cambridge!
Fullers Hill Cottages in Little Gransden is the creation of husband-and-wife team John and Jenny Jefferies and is based on a working farm. John and brother Mark manage the farm and adjoining Little Gransden Airfield, a base for classic aircraft. Award-winning cookbook author Jenny runs the holiday cottage business, which began 10 years ago with a decision to breathe new life into old farmyard buildings.
In a nod to their past use, five of the stylishly renovated spaces include the former dairy, tack room, hayloft and stables, each individually furnished to a high standard. The aviation-themed Old Dairy is delightfully quirky, featuring a coffee table made from a vintage Yak aircraft engine and a wall-mounted propeller. There are also two beautifully-restored farm cottages, two wooden lodges, and four luxurious hot tubs.
Gold Award winners in Green Tourism, Fullers Hill is eco-friendly, using renewable hemp core and wood fibre insulation and solar panels, amongst other measures. Jenny is also passionate about supporting local indie businesses and provides guest with useful contacts, from nannies to dog groomers, in her ‘Little Book’ series.
With Fullers Hill’s pretty gardens making the perfect Big Day backdrop, wedding receptions are next on John and Jenny’s ‘to do’ list. They are also planning The Retreat, a weekend of R&R including yoga, life drawing and a private chef. We’re SO signing up!
