With over fifteen years as the Cookery School, and now with the addition of the Wine School, the superb quality of its offering, as well as its beautiful setting, makes it a beacon for those who appreciate great food and wine. And all this is no surprise as owner, Tine Roche, trained at the world-renowned Leiths School of Food and Wine and is currently on her way to completing her studies towards the globally recognised Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Diploma in Wine.
At the Cookery School, corporate events and classes inspire the would-be chefs amongst us. A chance to bring people together and learn new skills, the reviews speak volumes about the expertise and knowledge discovered within the stunning backdrop of the School’s state-of-the-art kitchen (complete with Neff ovens and beautiful iittala cookwear).
And now the Wine School adds a whole new dimension with tasting series, classes and examinations for the WSET Levels 1, 2 and 3 and the introduction of Wine Social – centred around a short talk followed by a free tasting, these events are for mature, single people looking for a relaxed, fun and mildly educational evening out. No pressure, just an informal setting for people to meet while mingling around 3-4 different stations of wine – made all the more special with the atmospheric location in a former stonemasons’ brick building with its stylish Scandinavian-influenced interior overlooking a terrace and large lawn.
The School’s café – open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays – serves up Swedish and Danish classics in the form of their unique house rye open sandwiches, cinnamon buns, oat bowls, big salads, soups and delicious daily dishes, with the counter-top wine offering fizz, Italian style Spritzes and cocktails.
