Tucked away in a studio off Gwydir Street you’ll find a dynamic team of the best creative minds weaving together awe-inspiring ad campaigns for global clients. Cambridge Chronicles is an independent advertising agency led by charismatic director Domininkas Zalys.
Dom is a commercial photographer by profession, who has worked with the A-list, from the late Queen Elizabeth II and Stephen Hawkings to Rag’n’Bone Man and Jordan Belfort. He launched Cambridge Chronicles in 2024, out of a desire to document the city of Cambridge and its interesting facts. This quickly evolved into an ambitious studio specialising in ‘champagne-level advertising’ designed to create extraordinary impact.
Cambridge Chronicles has assembled a 20-plus-strong team of the best creatives, spanning filmmakers, sound engineers, artists, producers, brand designers and analysts, marketing specialists and SEO managers, all passionate about their craft. Together they offer fresh and exciting end-to-end production for documentaries, advertising campaigns, commercial photography and sound design. Experts at ‘seeing what you don’t’, they analyse a brand to identify its USP and any issues, before formulating an innovative strategy to make the client prosper. All production is created in-house, down to recording original sounds and capturing unique photographs, ensuring entirely bespoke solutions.
It’s less than a year since Cambridge Chronicles launched, working from Cambridge and Dubai, and their client list is already seriously impressive. Think The New York Times, Airbnb, STEP Arabia and Italian winery Don Vitantonio, alongside Cambridge University and Light Blue Clinic, closer to home. Their versatile Gwydir Street studio, which boasts 1100sq ft of space – accommodating up to 50 people – has been hired out for productions and events, whilst their podcast has received international acclaim.
Dom’s five-year-plan is for Cambridge Chronicles to become the go-to advertising agency for Cambridge, the UK and ultimately the world. With his steely determination, creative flair and talented team, it might not take that long!
