Amelie Restaurant, Café & Bakeshop
Ben's Yard, Stuntney Estate, Ely, CB7 5TR
Alex and Regis Crepy are the dynamic son-father team behind Amelie the relaxed, family friendly restaurant at Ben’s Yard where you’ll discover delicious food including the flammekueche, their amazing skinny pizza.
The traditional recipe for this flatbread hails from the Alsace region in France and dates back centuries to when the bakers tested the heat of the ovens with a piece of dough. Now it is Amelie’s fast casual signature dish. Made with an ultra-thin dough that has no yeast, it is spread with either crème fraiche or tomato sauce, topped with a variety of mouth-watering ingredients and quickly cooked at a high temperature until pizza perfection – crisp, fresh and very tasty.
With a background in fine dining and award-winning restaurants across East Anglia, the Crepys are passionate about good quality food and generous hospitality and committed to ensuring their customers enjoy a warm, welcoming experience at Amelie. Rory Landells who heads up the kitchen team uses the best local produce to create seasonal contemporary dishes with inventive flair and bold flavours.
Open all day, Amelie offers breakfast, small and larger lunchtime plates, traditional afternoon tea and a proper Sunday roast with all the trimmings.
Recently awarded two prestigious AA Rosettes for culinary excellence and creativity, Amelie has also won Good Food Guide’s ‘Local Gem’, Regional Winner, Muddy Stilettos Awards 2025, Suffolk & Cambs and Restaurant Finalist, Velvet’s Food & Drink Awards 2025.
Amelie Café & Bakeshop at Ben’s Yard is worth visiting too, the place to pick up a great cup of coffee with freshly baked breads, croissants, French patisseries, daily made quiches and light salads to go.
