Running a small independent business can be tough and there is often little time to dedicate to stepping back and thinking strategically. Strategy is often the least of your worries and indeed seems complicated and difficult, but it doesn’t have to be that way. This workshop will introduce you to a fantastic visual canvas called the Business Model that will, in a very short time, allow you to map out your business and help you identify the good, the bad and the ugly. It is simple but powerful and is a great way to help you build new ideas for how you can improve what you do and make your business even greater than it is today. Don’t be put off by the word business, this tool will work for any organisation of any size and type.
I have used this tool to help Anne and Steve at Indie Cambridge and I am sure they will be happy to tell you how much it helped them.
(it's true - it did, A&S ;-)
The session will cover the following:
What a business model is and why is it important
How the business model canvas can help you
An overview of the business model canvas, the different elements and what they mean
How to use the canvas to map your business or organisation
How to use the canvas to identify new ideas and things to improve
The event will be run by Ludo Chapman of The Innovation Practice. Ludo has over 30 years’ business experience ranging from launching and leading start-ups to running a mid-sized business. He started out by setting up a software training company before becoming CEO of a scientific instrument business. Following this he spent a year working with technology start-ups getting funding, leading product launches and setting up their sales channels, both in B2B and consumer markets.
